i just ordered an accuracy international arctic warfare rifle. it is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. bolt action, 10 round magazine.
my only problem is, i have no idea where to even start looking when it comes to finding the right scope.
Find a scope to suit you. NIKON LEUPOLD all are great. I like the Mark IV Leupold. You have to find a scope to suit you. You do not have the same sight picture as me nor measurements. When you are shooting at those distances you have to take in MOA Minute of ANGLE.
In a few months I'm planning on applying for the NYPD
But i was wondering if Law Enforcement Officer(especially in a state that has its own Assault Weapon ban) are exempted from the 10 round maximum magazine capacity for their...
No, no law abiding citizen is retracted from owning an assault weapon. Considering any weapon that is used to assault another, even a Ball-peen hammer is considered an assault weapon if it is used to assault someone. The gun control bigots coined the sinister name of "Assault

Good police work earns officer recognition
Capt. Ronald Curtis, commander of the Lee County's East Zone substation in Lehigh told Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce members that there are officers with a thorough knowledge of police work and often based on the odd things that they find out, it leads them to make an arrest. One such arrest by Sgt. Stephen Gehle in early October was one such incident and because of his quick thinking and dedication to his duties, he was named the Chamber's Officer of the Month at the luncheon held Oct. 25.
"Law enforcement's primary mandate is the protection of life and sometimes that mandate requires taking enforcement action under unusual circumstances in which the potential for harm to life and limb is high," said Curtis.
"Armed, suspicious individuals always raise an officer's awareness and suspicions and on Oct. 17 at midnight, Sgt. Gehle encountered just such an individual."
The officer was sent to a home in the 4,000 block of 8th St. SW to investigate a suspicious person who was knocking on the door of a woman who called 911 to say she heard the voice of a white male demanding she open up as he banged over and over on her door. She said she was too afraid to look outside and called the Sheriff's Office immediately.
LASD's Patrol Tech Rollout - News - LawOfficer.com
Took a close look at the extensive system and it's very impressive. LASD Commander Daryl Evans summed it up by saying, “This is not an evolution, this is a revolution.”
LASD is replacing an outdated mobile data terminal system that's been in operation since the mid-80s. According to Captain Scott Edson, who's been involved in the tech effort for more than a decade, the aging MDTs dramatically limit the operational awareness of deputies in the field. “MDTs are essentially dumb terminals,” Edson said. “The calls get sent to the deputies but they just don’t have an awareness of other events. The biggest change deputies will experience [with the new system] is an increase in knowledge. They’ll be able to engage in intentional patrol.”
The core of the new system will be 2,600 Panasonic Toughbook CF-31s....
73 Days Left: Below 100 - Below 100 - LawOfficer.com
You can’t be involved in the Below 100 Campaign and not think about numbers.
The trainers that are out there right now pushing this program have one thing in common and that is that they believe that we will get our annual line of duty deaths to below 100 in a year. That belief has to be there for their work to happen and while we will not get there in 2011, what can be done now to keep the end of year total to as low as possible and launch us into 2012 where I sincerely believe that we will do this?
Gordon Graham is a huge advocate of the Below 100 Campaign and one thing that he says that has always stuck with me is that “if it is predictable, it’s preventable.”
So what about the last part of 2011? There are 73 days left in 2011 as I write this and a quick look at our past reveals what we may be up against if we are not vigilant.
In the last 3 years, we have averaged 30 line of duty deaths with 73 days to go in that respective year. That would put the 2011 numbers on December 31, 2011 at 165. That cannot happen and would be the highest total we have seen since 2006.
