Magazine article stated that by law employers cannot get your credit scores?

All they can get is your credit reports.
Is this really true?
But they can see your credit reports without your permission?

You read wrong.

Your employer can get a copy of your credit report, but only if you agree in writing. A consumer reporting company may not provide information about you to your employer, or to a prospective employer, without your written consent.

Copyright - How Can The Week Magazine Re-Print Magazine Articles?

Presumably the magazine doesn't do deals with each source that it reproduces, so how does copyright law allow them to re-print editorial content that they don't own without paying royalties?

Also, can this law be applied...

Most of the material in there is not quoted directly, and only in small samples, so I don't think there's a problem with copyright issues. In fact, the other publications probably welcome the free publicity.

Longer stories, one page in length, probably require

How Networking Works | The Undeniable Ruth

When I started law school, the career services office often spoke about the value of networking, but no one really went into the nuts and bolts of how to do it. Many of my peers had little or no professional experience, so they tried to network as best they could but often made blunders, like showing up at networking events with resumes in hand expecting to get a job interview or a job offer. They weren’t taught that networking is about creating and maintaining a professional network. It’s a continuous process, not an event.

I want to share a recent experience that shows how networking works for me.

During the spring semester of my 1L at Arizona State University , the school invited author Ari Kaplan to speak at the school about how to create professional opportunities for yourself. I appreciated the fact that he encouraged people to be interesting and to stand out from the crowd. While he was still talking, I found him on LinkedIn and sent him a request to connect....

Anonymous targets law enforcement in latest data leak - SC Magazine

After a brief respite from exposing the personal information of its targets, the Anonymous hacking collective on Friday posted documents that appear to contain the personal information of police officers in Massachusetts and Alabama.

The group said it leaked the stolen data, which included the names, addresses, ranks, phone numbers and Social Security numbers for 1,000 officers in Birmingham, Ala., as part of the National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality.

The Twitter account " @anon260 " was issuing the tweets containing links to Pastebin documents.

The other publicly posted document contained the names, usernames and passwords of more than 1,000 members of the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association (BPPA).

Calls placed to both the Birmingham Police Department and BPPA were not immediately returned.

Today's commemoration included ground protests, as well, highlighted by a demonstration in Harlem against the New York City police's stop-and-frisk practices. The protest received support from the Occupy Wall Street movement. Thirty-two people were arrested, according to reports.
