The Bear loves Broadway
The Big Bear High School Performing Arts Department presents a Broadway extravaganza Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 3-5, at Community Church by the Lake.
The program features members of the Drama Club, Concert Choir and Jazz Band performing scenes and songs from some of Broadway’s best productions.
The show begins at 7 p.m. with a medley of songs from “Chicago” performed by the Concert Choir and choreographed by Maria Lowe from Bear Valley Studio of the Performing Arts. The show includes a series of solos from shows such as “Funny Girl,” Tarzan,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Wicked” and “Les Miserables.” Production numbers such as “Aquarius” from “Hair are performed by members of the Drama Club, featuring soloists Tashia Wormsbecker and Dani Bush, choreographed by E.J. Marquez.
Tickets are $5 for students and children, $8 for seniors and $10 general admission. Seating is limited, so reservations are recommended, but tickets are sold at the door.
