I find it stupid that one would be a big fanboy of something based on a source material rather than the source material itself and then say that source material sucks.
ppl wud rather watch movies of comic than comics itself... coz in a comic u have to read and it only shows a couple of pictures. but so u hav to imagine what happens between each picture and that's boring.
The Dragon Chronicles- Chris D'Lacey
Harry Potter- J.K. Rowling
Inheritance Cycle- Christopher Paolini
Pendragon series- D.J. MacHale

A Series of Unfortunate Events- Lemony Snicket
Haven’t read but heard that this is really good

Abercrombie's "The Blade Itself" has plenty of fights and fantasy
After a few too many embarrassing repeat reads of “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” Chelsea Handler’s books and the last few issues of Cosmo, my dad arranged a literary intervention for me.
Being a fantasy fan, he recommended that I regain some of my street-cred (in his eyes) by checking out “The Blade Itself,” the first book in Joe Abercrombie’s “The First Law” trilogy.
And now I’m hooked.
Like “The Game of Thrones,” “The Blade Itself” chooses a different character each chapter to focus on, eventually interspersing those stories and adding interplay between the characters, who, as the book goes on, become more and more intertwined.
The main characters include Logen “The Bloody Nine” Ninefingers, a barbarian from the North, Ferro, a wild former slave on a path of destruction, Captain Jezal dan Luthar, a dashing but arrogant nobleman, Bayaz, the First of the Magi and Sand de Glokta, a prisoner turned sadistic torturer.

The Dude costume is the best. Last week you mentioned a new theme is on the way for the site, can you elaborate?
Sure. The theme I’m using now was just something random that I found. It has many limitations and isn’t updated. I have some fellas working on a new theme. It will look pretty similar, yet have more space for content and menus. With the new theme I’ll be launching some new features on the site including a collection of good links, a FAQ, updating the food section, updating the Hall of Fame (we need to do a November induction), having a better interface for some products, and having a page that lists 70′s Big meeting groups around the country (Ellee has started one in Chicago). Aside from content, the theme will have a few more widgets/plug-ins that will be better/neat, and threaded comments will make communicating much easier.

@Stroup- I’d really advise staying away from Sword of Truth unless you like to be bludgeoned over the head by Ayn Rand style Objectivism for the last seven books....
Book Review: The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie « Luke on Fire
Book one of the First Law Trilogy, The Blade Itself takes its title from Homer: "The Blade Itself Incites to Violence." The quote is a fitting title. While not steeped in violence, the threat is an undercurrent in nearly every scene.
Joe Abercrombie writes fantasy, the gritty type. If your looking for one dimensional archetypes, squeaky clean heroes and soiled villains, and the quest to save the realm from an all encompassing evil, then you should look elsewhere. What you'll find in all of Abercrombie's works is realism, moral and emotional realism. Where in many a book of fantasy, dealing death on every page seems to have no effect, Abercrombie's characters feel weighed down by it, and this a good thing. From Logen, the barbarian who's legacy of violence has left him with nothing, to Jezal dan Luthar, the playboy highborne who is pulled into political life, no man endures long without the scars of violence on his soul.
