Argentine wines featured at Chioda's

Wines from Argentina will be paired with food from Chioda’s Trattoria at a five-course wine dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14.

The event will take place at Chioda’s, 631 Franklin St., Worcester. Co-host is Renaissance Liquors , 345 Grafton St., Worcester.

Tickets cost $50 per person; $90 per couple. They can be purchased at Renaissance Liquors, (508) 753-8910.

Traditional Italian wedding soup, stuffed tortellini pomodoro with pesto, and Porchetta are included on the menu.

Marta’s Vinyard, a family business located in the Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu regions of the province of Mendoza in Argentina, will be among wineries represented in the wine pairings.

The company is named after Marta Lunardi, who recently was in the Worcester and Boston area to introduce her wines to retailers.

Lunardi and other guests visited Chioda’s Trattoria with Caio Galliac of Global Wines Inc.

What kind of costume should a man wore, was completely depended on his standing in the society. During renaissance period men’s choice of clothing were governed by laws. Upper class men wore the costume made from damask, silk, velvet, taffeta and rayon fabrics. On the other hand men of lower class used cotton, linen and shipskin to make costumes. This makes us easier to understand that better the material higher the class. Also there were many clothing that were worn by both the class of men; the only difference was quality of fabrics used in making for instance tunic and doublets.

It is also a noted fact that a man of renaissance era had more choices than modern men. Unlike today’s men, men of that period were draped in layers of clothing. Other major factor that affected the men’s clothing was geographical feature of a region. Men of different regions wore the same costume but in different designs and styles more suitable to climatic feature of one’s country.
