Freedom from religion seems to be the policy in which religion is discouraged to be visible within the Public sphere. However, Freedom of Religion is meant to be the freedom to express religion. So how are these two concepts related?
Two different things. Freedom of religion means any individual can openly worship whatever imaginary friend they want. Freedom from religion means that no particular religion will be government sponsored or endorsed, therefore no displays in government buildings.
Why has ALL criticism been directed at France? A lot of other secular countries including Muslim majorities view the issue in the same way.
